In this March Full Moon Message 2021 we discuss the energetic themes for the March Full Moon. The energy around this full moon is one of breakdown to breakthrough. For many this will be a period of the dark night of the soul, because it is always darkest before the dawn. The key to turning breakdown into breakthrough is to remain present, let go our stories about the past, present, and future, slow down, and allow ourselves to be fully present with our emotions and state of being.

The energy around the March full moon is volatile to say the least. On March 26th the Serpent of Time corridor we discussed previously will start to come to a close as Mars crosses over Rahu in Taurus. The Serpent of Time corridor we’ve been in since January has been characterized by all of the planets in Vedic astrology being on one side of the zodiac between Rahu and Ketu. This has resulted in extreme energy swings and has distorted our sense of time.

The Mars and Rahu conjunction in Taurus is closing this cycle by bringing in a lot of chaotic fiery energy into the home, family, and political spheres. Simply put things may feel weird and surreal the next few weeks. Expect the unexpected.

Many of us are at the “enough is enough” stage of the breakdown to breakthrough cycle. You may be feeling an irresistible urge to shake things up right now. If that is happening try to distinguish the ego’s desire for novelty from the soul’s desire for transformation and move towards transformation. If you are able to distinguish those two urgings, your actions will lead to break through instead of breakdown.

The only way to go from breakdown to breakthrough successfully is to go through the process as consciously as possible. Things may feel really chaotic right now, either because of your own inability to continue living with the status quo or the status quo’s inability to continue living with you.

In the midst of chaos be here now. Let go of your attachment to long term plans. Be available to what comes your way when it comes. Don’t be afraid to make a “mistake,” if you fall get back up and try again. The past is no more, the future is not yet.

Stop clinging to the past and ideas about the future. The past, present, and future are all just states of mind. The past is our memories of what has been, the future is our ideas about what is to come, and the present moment is our perception of what is occurring now that is quickly fading into the past.

When our mind is caught up in the mental activity of past, present, and future it can feel like we are in an invisible river of inevitability over which we have little control. However, the inevitability like the states of mind of past, present, and future is a creation of the mind. It feels inevitable because we are identified with our thoughts. The inertia is all in our mind.

We choose the life we are living one moment at a time. We wake up choose the same old unhappy life over and over again day in and day out and call it fate. But there is not such thing as fate, there is only the inertia of our thoughts.

Stop the inertia and be here now, and you will have the freedom to choose something different. Slow down and ask yourself, “How do I want to be in the world? Who do I want to be?” In times of chaos it is tempting to go back to familiar patterns of being. Instead of acting deliberately our fear and anxiety causes us to act habitually.

Slow down and let go of the self-created state of emergency. There is nowhere to go. There is nowhere to be. Be here now. What do you choose in the present moment? Who do you choose to be? Do you choose to live the same old life and reenact the same old patterns, or do you choose something different? Is breakdown causing you to regress to prior states of being, or catalyzing you to choose different patterns more in alignment if your evolving consciousness?

When we runaway from our feelings and try to avoid pain we become rigid and fragile. When we witness and allow them we are resilient, flexible and free. When things get tough it is tempting to shut down and runaway from our feelings. Don’t avoid them. That is a mistake. Don’t ignore your gut. Don’t ignore your soul’s urging. Don’t ignore your feelings. Be present with what you are feeling in the present moment. Witness and allow. What is it trying to teach you?
